Volkswagen Tiguan R Line has been officially confirmed for launch in India in the second quarter of 2025.
The R Line is the range topping version of the latest-gen Tiguan which was revealed globally back in 2023. It is expected to arrive here as a full import, which means pricing will be on the premium side.
As the range-topper of the Tiguan lineup, the R-Line variants get sportier front and rear bumpers, a rear spoiler and side panels in R-Line design spec. It also additionally gets the full-width horizontal LED light strips at the front and rear, and larger 19-inch alloy wheels. Customers abroad also have the option of speccing the car in a Black Style package, but it remains to be seen if Volkswagen offers it here in India.

On the inside, the Tiguan R Line variants additionally come equipped with sports seats and an ambient lighting package with three light zones and 30 colour options. Elsewhere, as standard, the Tiguan R Line comes equipped with a 10.3-inch digital instrument display and a 12.9-inch central infotainment screen. Overall, the dashboard has a clean and upmarket look and the infotainment systems use the latest version of VW’s MIB4 software platform with over-the-air update capability.
In terms of dimensions, the Tiguan R Line measures 4,539mm long, 1,639mm tall (without roof rails) and is 1,842mm wide, making it only 30mm longer and about the same width as the previous-gen Tiguan which still continues to be on sale in India. Its wheelbase also remains the same as before, at 2,680mm.

Volkswagen India hasn’t confirmed which of these will be brough to India, but the higher-spec 2.0-litre petrol engine can be expected in keeping with the premium billing of the SUV. For reference, the existing Tiguan in India is available with a 190hp, 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with all-wheel drive and a 7-speed DCT.
