Nissan Tekton will be underpinned by the same platform as the upcoming Duster and it will be launched in India early next year. Nissan Tekton will rival the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and recently launched Victoris, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, VW Taigun, Skoda Kushaq and Honda Elevate.
The Tekton name, rooted in Greek meaning “craftsman” or “architect,” shows the focus on precision engineering and premium design according to Nissan. The announcement marks the second model under Nissan’s ‘One Car, One World’ strategy produced in partnership with Renault at Chennai for both domestic sales and exports to select international markets.
As for the design, the Nissan Tekton takes inspiration from the legendary Patrol SUV. The front fascia features a sculpted, commanding bonnet with an aggressive lower bumper supplemented by signature C-shaped LED headlamps enabling a muscular stance. The side profile is accented with a unique “Double-C” motif on the front doors subtly inspired by mountain ranges as the overall design is modern as well as upright.
